Part I: Clapp Family Reunion
| Luke, Elizabeth, and Jon |
Part II: NYC!!
Joey and I are always pretty excited when we are able to spend time in Queens with the Gibsons and this trip was not any different. The plan was to meet up with an IBJM missions team in New York after they had already spent a week ministering in Boston. The Gibson's church, Shalom Baptist, has a Thank God for Israel weekend once a year and typically they are able to have a group in to help hand out invitation flyers. This year IBJM sent a group of volunteers led by our General Director, Ed Frampton, and his family. We were able to hand out about 15,000 flyers and help the Gibsons get the word out about Shalom Baptist Church. We had about 20 new visitors between the Friday night service and Sunday morning service. Overall, it was a great weekend with many new visitors that were truly searching for answers and wanting to read the Bible to see what it has to offer. Please pray for the church and the Gibsons as the continue to follow up with the visitors and continue to serve the Queens area.
Part III: IBJM Four Day Focus
Every year our mission board has a 4 day conference about Jewish evangelism. We went last year and through that conference God showed us his will for us to join the mission board. Last year, Joey and I were very new to Jewish culture and customs and pretty much every session was full of new information for us. Now that we have had a little more experience and exposure to Jewish culture, this year was even more enjoyable as we were able to soak up a little more of the teaching. We were also excited to see old friends and meet many new.
One of the highlights was seeing two familiar faces from one of our supporting churches. Two ladies had been stirred toward Jewish evangelism through our presentation and started praying about attending the Focus. We were excited to see them grow in excitement throughout the week and we are eager to see what God has for them in the future.
Part IV: Michigan
Currently, we are enjoying some time with Joey's brother Jon and his family in Michigan. Joey was able to schedule some meetings up here so we could have an "excuse" to spend more time with family. We are looking forward to a 4th of July camping trip and also a brief stop in Rockford for me while Joey heads to St. Jude for a regular check-up.
Thank you for all of your prayers!! We have seen God work in some very mighty ways during our travel adventures and we are looking forward to whatever he has for us throughout the rest of the summer.
God bless you!
Leah
