Slow few weeks

In an effort to stick to my resolution to update you every week, I am updating, even though there is not much exciting news. Since my last post, we were supposed to have two meetings. The first one was a four hour trip for an evening service. We made the trek on Sunday afternoon, got all they way there and found out that there was a special speaker for the night... and it wasn't me! The pastor had forgotten about scheduling me, and when I called to confirm the meeting, he was not at home because he was on a trip to Alaska! The Lord worked it out though, and we were still able to present our ministry before the special speaker spoke. God is good in spite of us! We knew this would happen at one point during deputation, and this was a great church for it to happen with. The people were so gracious. We had three or four invitations to spend the night and one man even gave us a gift card for dinner on the way home.
The next Sunday was supposed to be another meeting. I obviously called early to confirm that we were on given our experience the Sunday before. When I called to confirm our meeting, the pastor told me that his wife has recently had major surgery, and that this was not a good time for us to come. The Lord had other plans for us as we were able to teach one of the adult Sunday School classes at our home church last Sunday. We are blessed to serve a God who has a plan for us. Praise Him for the changes in our plan, so we could be perfectly within His plan.
The next few weeks will be busy as we prepare for the wedding of Leah's cousin. Leah is the matron of honor and I am the best man, so there is much to do here in the Clapp household in the next few weeks. After the wedding we are heading back down to IBJM for the bi-annual missionary enrichment conference. It will be good to see the Gibsons, as well as our friends that work in the home office at IBJM. We are also looking forward to meeting many of the US missionaries, as well as missionaries on furlough that work with our board. Please pray for us as we endeavor to serve Him better each day.
